About Us
I’m Debriana Ross, the proud founder and creator of D Baby Essentials — a brand built on love, science, and the belief that everyone deserves to experience healthy, beautiful, and thriving hair.
I grew up on the South Side of Chicago, raised by a strong single mother of six. My twin brother and I were the youngest, and our home was always full of energy, resilience, and creativity. From a young age, I learned the importance of making the most of what you have — a value that has stayed with me both personally and professionally.
As an educator and science curriculum developer, my curiosity about how things work naturally extended to my own hair. I began to wonder: What does it really take to maintain a healthy scalp, retain length, and keep moisture locked in? That curiosity led me to research the biology of hair growth and experiment with natural oils and herbs to find what truly works for textured hair.
In college, I started creating my own hair products to save money and simplify my routine. My friends loved the results and would always say, “This that D Baby Essentials!” — and the name stuck.
In 2020, three months before the pandemic, I made a bold decision to cut my hair due to severe heat damage. Using my very own hair growth oil, I watched my hair grow back stronger, healthier, and longer than ever before. That personal success reignited my passion for natural hair care — and I realized I could help others experience the same transformation.
Now, five years later, that same formula and spirit have evolved into D Baby Essentials — a line of all-natural hair care products designed to nourish the scalp, stimulate growth, and strengthen every strand from root to tip.
